FINAL ADVENTURES BY DISNEY THOUGHTS

Now that I have completed my Adventures by Disney trip report, you may be thinking about taking an Adventures by Disney trip of your own.   I wanted to summarize my thoughts and, of course, if you are ready to book or you have questions, I am happy to work with you.  You can reach me at [email protected]

The Disney Difference
  • If you are always the trip planner and coordinator for your family, you will appreciate Adventures by Disney so much.   Other than booking your flights, you can hand over the reins to ABD and they take care of everything.
  • You will see and do so much in a shorter period of time than you could do on your own.   Looking back on our trip, we would often say “We did all of that in one day?”   The timing and transportation is all figured out and handled beautifully by ABD.
  • We did not have to transport our checked luggage at all during the trip.  Even on departure, Adventures by Disney had timed the hotel staff to pick up our bags and bring them down to the lobby.
  • The hotels are excellent.   Both hotels in my adventure were beautiful and in great locations.
  • Private experiences just for our group were so wonderful.   It didn’t happen everywhere but when it was possible it was excellent.
  • The hands on experiences were some of my favorite activities of the trip.   They get you involved rather than just sight seeing.
  • You can put down your phone and be part of the experience.   The ABD guides take all the photos for you.   Besides taking your family’s pictures throughout the trip, they also take general pictures of each location.  At the end, you receive a link where you can download all the pictures.  That is all included in your cost already.

What you Should Know
  • While it is a “Disney” product, it is not like going to the theme parks or on a Disney Cruise in terms of the level of “Disney.”   Except for some subtle tie ins that were mentioned (Like the steps of St. Paul’s Cathedral is the location of the Feed the Birds scene from Mary Poppins), and the characters on your daily pin,  it is not a “Disney” experience – it is a destination experience.
  • As our guides said, it is YOUR adventure.  If there is something in the itinerary that you do not wish to participate in, that is no problem at all.   You just need to communicate with the guides so that they know you have split off to do your own thing.  Most of our group stayed together the entire time, however we did have a couple that wanted to spend more time at the Louvre and we had a group that wanted to take an afternoon away from the itinerary to visit Disneyland Paris.   Again, it was no issue – the guides just need to account for everyone so as long as they know, you can do what you like.
  • The guides also said at the start of the trip – This is an Adventure, not a vacation.   While we had some downtime, it was not a relaxing trip.  The days are long and there is a lot to do each day.   It is also a lot of walking and, at least for our trip, it was a lot of stairs.   Everyone in our group was fine and able to keep the pace for the whole time, but it was noticeable that accommodations, such as elevators, are just not an option.   I would not see this type of trip being accessible for anyone needing a wheelchair or ECV.
  • It is not inexpensive.   One quick look at the ABD website will show you that it is not a “cheap” trip.   That said, the value is certainly there for the price.

I really LOVED our England / France Adventure.   We have our sights set on another in 2026!

I have been a huge Disney and travel fan since childhood.  I love going to new places and, of course, heading to Disney as often as I can.
