We had a bright and early departure of 8 am as we were off to Versailles. It was a little bit of drive so either Alex or Valerie would give us some information while we making the trip. As we turned the corner and got our first glimpse, it was already so impressive from just the outside. We, again, divided into two smaller groups and used the group entrance. It is really quite unbelievable in size and décor. Alex was our guide and he described everything for us and we had a photo op in the Hall of Mirrors. After we finished touring the inside, we made our way to the gardens. We had a little bit of a tour there and then had a tram waiting just for our group to make our way to another area where we would be having lunch. Within the gardens, there was a restaurant where we would have lunch together as a group. Afterwards, there was an option to bike ride or have about an hour on your own. The weather was not great so Sue, Carrie and I decided to just walk around a bit. Chris decided to join on the group bike ride. About halfway through, the sky opened up on all the bike riders – who were only half way through and no choice but to bike through the rain. They were all soaked but still in a good spirits when we all met back up on our coach bus. We made the ride back to the hotel where we had a few hours to regroup before meeting back again to go to our Farewell Dinner. The dinner took place in a private room at a different hotel. When we arrived, there were appetizers waiting for us. Lewis and Melissa were wearing berets and then said they had berets for all of us. We were invited into the main dining room and our first treat of the evening was an accordion player. In between meal courses, we had some different presentations. Melissa and Lewis had put together a slide show of our entire trip. It went day by day with a variety of pictures of all our activities. They also presented everyone who were celebrating a birthday or anniversary with this trip with a card and pins. We even had a little dance with everyone. We made our way on the coach back to the hotel and sadly, that was the formal end of our Adventure. The next morning, Melissa was in the lobby to facilitate each guest’s departure. We were heading to Disneyland Paris and we had booked a private car transportation to Disneyland Paris through Adventures by Disney. Melissa was there to make sure we were all set and sent us on our way.
I really can’t say enough about how amazing this trip was. Adventures by Disney does everything right. You can truly let go and trust them to take care of everything. I definitely hope to do more adventures in the future!
